The term “information retrieval” was first introduced by Calvin Moore in 1948 in his doctoral thesis, published and used in the literature since 1950.
At first, automated IP systems, or information retrieval systems (IPS), were used only to control the information explosion in the scientific literature. Many universities and public libraries have begun to use IRS to provide access to books, journals and other documents. IPS became widespread with the advent of the Internet. Among Russian-speaking users, the most popular search engines are Yandex and Rambler.
Information retrieval as a process
Information search is the process of identifying in a certain set of documents (texts) all those that are devoted to a specified topic (subject), satisfy a predetermined search condition (request) or contain the necessary (corresponding to information needs) facts, information, data.
The search process includes a sequence of operations aimed at collecting, processing and providing the necessary information to interested parties.
In general, the search for information consists of four stages:
determination (clarification) of information needs and formulation of an information request;
determination of the totality of possible holders of information arrays (sources);
extracting information from the identified information arrays;
familiarization with the information received and evaluation of the search results.
And we propose to consider an ecosystem called Exorde, built around a core platform that provides objective assessments of the trust in information (and virality-related analytics) based on the community, artificial intelligence modules and a token-based economy.
The Exorde Work Systems are the core component and will serve as the base layer for the entire ecosystem. This platform is decentralized, open and transparent.
This is where participants will work together to index the entire network, extracting its unstructured information, relationships, similarities, trends, and any type of pattern in information circulating throughout the Internet, regardless of platform or media.
Exorde as a knowledge network can use the unstructured content of the Internet and perform a first-of-its-kind analysis of the virality of information circulating throughout the network.
